A real commitment
Roma Tre University takes part in the Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (RUS) and has initiated a process to integrate sustainability principles into teaching, research, third mission activities, and the management of its facilities, in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.
Through this process, Roma Tre aims to define a shared development strategy inspired by sustainability principles, which will become an integral part of the University’s Strategic Plan.
A comprehensive vision
Our commitment to sustainability is based on developing projects with a holistic vision focused on protecting people and the planet, by choosing merchandising products with a lower environmental impact than conventional ones. In our Store, you can select products made from sustainable materials, such as recycled plastic or organic fabrics.

We closely monitor our supply chain, paying particular attention to fair wage, Fairtrade, and ISO certifications: 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 20400:2017.

Let’s raise awareness together
For example, to produce our T-shirts, hoodies, and shoppers, we use organic cotton, which is grown without harmful chemicals and requires less water, thereby reducing the environmental impact of cultivation.
The University’s personalized thermal bottles, in addition to being made of recyclable aluminum and packaged in FSC-certified cardboard, have for several years served as an effective tool to raise awareness within the university community about reducing the use of plastic bottles.

Relativamente all’esercizio 2024, i costi sostenuti dall’Università degli Studi Roma Tre che dimostrano la sensibilità e il conseguente impegno dell’Ateneo verso il finanziamento di progetti e iniziative legate alla sostenibilità ambientale e sociale e possono essere classificati nelle seguenti macroaree:
- Environmental Management: efficiency in the use of natural resources, reduction of carbon emissions, waste management, use of renewable energy, and sustainability-oriented services: €503,000.
- Commitment to the Community: initiatives promoted by the University to engage students and staff in sustainable living: €9,170,000.
- Policies and Infrastructure: implementation of internal policies and green infrastructures, such as LEED-certified buildings or other eco-certifications, renovation projects, regulatory compliance measures, and energy efficiency improvements: €19,325,000.
Our Store, located at Via Ostiense 133, has been designed and built with constant attention to resource efficiency. All the furnishings are made of structured cellulose composed of mixed percentages of wood fiber, recycled kraft paper, and natural adhesives. The Store presents itself as a design ecosystem where space design and communication merge into an integrated and immersive experience.
